I am Targeting the Next 2 World T20s | Sohail Tanvir Exclusive Interview:

Multiple Renowned stars have got the title of T20 Specialist over the years. But whenever you hear the word “T20 Specialist” in Pakistan, it either reminds you of Shahid Afridi or Sohail Tanvir. The veteran left arm pacer with over a decade of experience in the shortest format of the game, joined Cricset.pk for a special interview and threw his thoughts regarding his own career and a lot more.

Thoughts on Comeback?

Sohail Tanvir last represented Pakistan in 2017 when he featured in a T20I game against the West Indies at Queen’s Park Oval. Even though we have not seen Sohail in the Pakistan Colors for about 4 years, he has still not quitted his hopes of getting back in to the team. “Playing for Pakistan is my passion, the doors are not closed for me”, Sohail told Cricset.pk. Not only that, but he is also targeting the upcoming T20 World Cup in 2021. Sohail Tanvir is still playing domestic cricket as well as T20 leagues around the world and is surely hopeful for a comeback.

Which is the Best T20 League as per Sohail Tanvir?

Sohail Tanvir is one of those players who has played probably every cricket league in the world. From IPL to CPL and obviously the country’s own PSL, Sohail has featured in every league. Sohail said that IPL and PSL are at the top while rating the T20 Leagues across the world. “IPL is obviously the first while PSL is second best”, Sohail Tanvir added.

How Proud was Sohail Tanivr on his First International Call-Up?

Sohail Tanvir first arrived at the mean scene when he was asked to replace Shoaib Akhtar in 2007. Sohail said that it was his dream to represent Pakistan Cricket Team and his all struggle and hard work paid off when he earned that call up. “It was probably the best moment of my life when I got the news that I was selected for 2007 World Cup”, Sohail told cricset.pk.

Does he think of becoming a coach after retirement?

When a player enters the age of late 30s, it is thought that he is heading towards the end of his career and thoughts regarding retirement must be starting to get in his head. Well this was not the case with Sohail Tanvir right now, as he clearly said that he is targeting the upcoming T20 World Cup in India. “I am targeting both the upcoming T20 world cups, and afterwards I will give it a thought that when I am retiring”, Sohail Said.

Thoughts on becoming Purple Cap holder in the First Ever IPL?

Sohail Tanvir was the Purple Cap holder in the first ever season of IPL. He took most wickets in that year’s IPL and certainly made the entire Pakistan Proud. Sohail Tanvir revealed that he didn’t realize at that time that how big was this achievement. “I was new in International Arena at that time, I didn’t realize about how big that achievement was at that time, but now I feel proud on it”, Sohail added.
