Pakistan made sure that they finally win a game on this tour to give their fans something to cheer about. Right from the start till the very end, Pakistan had the upper hand and ended victorious in the first T20I against England.

Highest T20I Total:

After winning the toss, Eoin Morgan asked Pakistan to bat first on a good batting surface. Morgan surely regretted the decision as Pakistan ended up scoring their highest team total in T20I Cricket. Pakistan posted 232/6 in their 20 overs. Skipper Babar Azam top scored with 85 while Mohammad Rizwan played a good hand with 63 runs. Pakistan’s previous highest total in T20I was against South Africa and West Indies. Pakistan scored 205/1 against South Africa in 2021 while they scored 205/3 against West Indies in 2018.

Most T20I Fifties:

Pakistan’s Skipper Babar Azam registered his 19th T20I fifty in the first T20I against England. This is the third most No. of fifties in the T20I format. Only Rohit Sharma (22) and Virat Kohli (28) have more half centuries than Babar Azam. Moreover this was Babar Azam’s tenth score of 50+ as captain in T20Is. Only Kane Williamson (11), Aaron Finch (11) and Virat Kohli (12) have more 50+ scores in T20Is as captain.

Most 150 or Above Runs Partnerships:

Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam had an opening stand of 150 runs yesterday in the first T20I. This was the second time that the pair had registered a partnership of 150 or more runs. They equaled the record of Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan for most 150 or above runs partnerships in T20I Cricket. Both, Sharma-Dhawan and Babar-Rizwan pairs have registered 150 or more runs partnerships twice in T20I Cricket.
