Ramiz Raja Warns New Zealand | Twitter Reacts to Series Cancellation:

Moments before the beginning of the first ODI at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, New Zealand Cricket Team decided to Abandon the tour. With no clarification at all, the BlackCaps just revealed that they have got a security alert and they can not continue the tour anymore. The 3 ODIs and 5 T20Is were all gone just because of a threat.

Before the tour, the Security Expert of New Zealand Cricket Board gave clearance of the tour, and New Zealand even practised and did quarantine here in Pakistan. Yet they abandoned the tour moments before the first ODI is indeed a bit of a shocker for everyone.

Current and former Pakistani Cricketers expressed their thoughts on twitter after the cancellation of the series. Pakistani Captain, Babar Azam Tweeted the following:

The Pakistani Captain clearly showed his disappointment on the series cancellation and the fact that fans were deprived from cricketing action. However it was not just Babar, even the Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board Mr. Ramiz Hassan Raja also spoke against New Zealand Cricket. Ramiz Tweeted:

It will be interesting to see how PCB will react on this issue in front of the ICC, as the tour did receive clearance but was abandoned midway without any proper details by the Kiwi Cricket Board. Following are some more tweets where former players and even team manager, Mr. Mansoor Rana expresses his anger, disgust and disappointment on the decision of New Zealand Cricket Board:

Team Manager Mansoor Rana showed full faith in Pakistan’s security forces and refused any security threat whatsoever.

Former Captain Shahid Afridi also questioned New Zealand’s decision despite of being assured of full proof security.

The Rawalpindi Express, Shoaib Akhtar said that the threat was unverified and it could have been discussed. Shoaib also highlighted the previous tours that Pakistan successfully held.

This entire situation has put a question mark on the England’s tour of Pakistan in October. However the threats that New Zealand Cricket Board received are unverified, so the fans can stay positive about the England tour Happening.
